Message from the chairman: Inclusion and diversity in cricket
November 29, 2021
To Club Members,

You will have all seen the issues that have been raised by Azeem Rafiq at Yorkshire County Cricket Club. At this moment it is right that we as a club reflect on our procedures and policies but also that we accept that barriers exist in cricket.

The club’s committee has decided to form a group to review the following areas:

1. Ensure we are listening to our members and open to critical review.
2. That as a club we are removing barriers and promoting inclusion.
3. That our policies are fit for purpose and become part of our culture.
4. That our club is influencing the wider cricket community and seen as a leader in Berkshire.

Please let me know if you’d be interested in joining this group. If you have any concerns regarding discrimination at the club please report to the Welfare office, myself, or a team captain. If you wish to report outside the club please contact
The ECB has launched an independent Commission for Equity in Cricket. I encourage you all to feedback on your experiences in their online survey.
