There is absolutely no doubt that we are in unprecedented times, the world has been impacted in ways I’m sure most of us would never imagined possible. Of course both professional and recreational cricket has felt the impact of Covid-19 as much as any other sport in the world.
Before we give you a brief update on the club, let us make one thing abundantly clear, we are here to support our members in anyway we can, so if you are experiencing difficulty during this time, please let us know and we will do all we can to help.
As a club, financially we are in a great position, unlike many other clubs, we have not fallen into a deficit and are confident we can come through this crisis stronger.
Moving onto what most of us are probably wanting to know right now, “Will there be any cricket?”. The simple answer is we don’t know! What we do know is that we are ready to go as soon as we get the green-light, Brian has done a fantastic job in keeping the square up to standard meaning that we are ready when the country is!
We are keeping up-to date with the very latest ECB communications, the latest thinking seems to suggest that there will be some cricket this year, perhaps even very soon. What that “cricket” will look like, we don’t know.
Senior training has resumed on the usual day of Wednesday, feel free to turn up however it would help us plan the sessions much more effectively if we are given prior notice of your attendance. If you would like to attend nets, please contact Rob Why, his contact details can be found on the ‘Contact Us’ page under ‘About Us’.
Thank you & stay safe!
