"Since joining the Thames Valley League in 2008 the club has moved forward both on and off the field. All three Saturday playing XIs are now playing at a higher standard than when we joined the league, and on Sundays we have sucessfully added a second Friendly XI. " - Phil Mead Chairman
We are a traditional village cricket club, based just outside of Reading, whose aim is to provide enjoyable cricket for players of all ages and abilities. We play to win but also to have fun, and there is a very strong social scene around the club throughout the year. Our club is located in the heart of the village in Theale and we are a very active part of village life both in Theale and in Tilehurst.
On the field we run three teams on Saturdays playing competitive cricket the Thames Valley League (from the firsts in div 4 to the thirds in div 7), as well as two teams on Sundays who play friendly fixtures against local opposition. We are always looking for new members, and can guarantee a warm welcome, so if you are looking to join us please contact one of the team captains or come to a net session. Winter nets start in mid Feb on Tuesday nights from 7:30pm at Little Heath School in Tilehurst, and Summer net session are from 7pm on Wednesdays at the main ground in Theale.
"We are very proud of our Youth section which provides coaching and competitive cricket for over 100 boys and girls across five age groups. Our aim is to provide the opportunity to play cricket to as many boys and girls as possible. Practice sessions start in late February and run throughout the summer." - Stu Brown Youth Coordinator
Our youth section goes from strength to strength with teams from under 9s through to under 17s, starting with youngsters who have never played the game as young as seven, through to the older age groups who also play senior league cricket. We have a very good track record of transitioning junior players into our senior sides and the on field sucess of our senior league XIs owes a lot to the players how have come through our youth section. Each age group has a dedicated practice night as well as playing fixtures in the Berkshire Youth League and Cup. Please contact our Youth Manager Stu Brown if you are looking to join one of our Youth cricket age groups or come to one of our practice sessions.
We are committed to ensuring that the club provides a safe, friendly and enjoyable experience for everyone but especially
for children and vulnerable adults by adopting and implementing the ECB's "Safe Hands - Welfare of Young
People in Cricket" policy. Our policies are detailed in the following document: Codes of Conduct and Changing
